Meursault "Les Vireuils Dessous" 2015, Domaine Pargiot

Always interesting to understand how a hearty and rich vintage like 2015 evolves in chardonnays after more than five years. Too heavy or impressively concentrated? This Domaine Parigot Meursault from "Les Vireuils Dessous" which is on the mid-to-high slope next to Auxey announced itself with a good straw yellow colour showing both age and concentration. A deep lemon nose, followed by lemon posset pudding and creme anglaise. Elegant transition to hawthorn flowers and white roses. Fresh, structured and still powerful. This combines lemon, red apple and satsuma with a weighty finish. Another very enjoyable wine from Domaine Parigot who are based in Meloisey. Photo shows the stony soil in the Vireuls lieu-dit.
