Nuits St. Georges “Les Argillats” 2015, Philippe Gavignet

The Imbibers’ Guide team tasted at the domaine in 2017 and enjoyed the portfolio not to mention the belle brioche. This is a weird and wonderful wine. Rich yellow with a hint of gold. A bouquet of marzipan, white honey, candied orange, pineapple upside-down cake, clotted cream and sweet ginger. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, these chardonnay grapes were picked late! Luxurious texture with traces of golden treacle and orange marmalade. Bitterness on the finish. An exotic NSG blanc which brooks no score sheet.
