Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru “Borniques” 2009, Frédéric Magnien

First wine in a blind-tasting this had a deep and dense evolved purple colour. Engrossing aromas of plum, black currant and blackberry. It is ripe and deep. Evolves to rye bread, vanilla and cassis. On the palate this Chambolle 1er Cru is sings the song of the 2009 vintage: dense black fruit flavours, rich, long and ripe with a touch of coffee and a soft, rounded character. I thought this was a 2009 Volnay... not too far away in terms of terroir and style from a Chambolle. A lovely wine. Scores 88/100.
