Puligny-Montrachet 2013, François Carillon

This Puligny has travelled all of 300 metres from the François Carillon cellar to the Imbibers’ Guide cellar and has not moved since 2015. Hence it is in excellent condition with a bright silvery yellow colour and clean aspect. Initial nose of lemon and tangerine. This turns into lemon tart. It’s almost Chablis-like. Linear and mineral, conceptually this 2013 Puligny is angular and like licking a large quartz crystal. Mineral finish, saline with a taste of preserved lemon. The overall impression is of a wine that is too controlled. The corset has been too tightly buttoned. Scores 76-79/100.
