Pernand-Vergelesses “Les Cloux” 2015, Rollin Père & Fils

This Pernand-Vergelesses from the ripe and rich 2015 vintage has a characteristic pear nose with hints of beeswax, dried mango, marzipan and Ecuadorean banana (you have either tasted one or you haven’t... they are different!). On the palate, the warm verging on tropical flavours continue with melon, peach, and passion fruit. There is nevertheless a layer of limestone minerality and an excellent lemon and lime undercurrent. Demonstrates superb wine-making skill in a vintage when many whites became flabby. Also shows the benefit of slightly higher and cooler lieux dits. Scores 77-80/100.
