Pernand-Vergelesses 2017, Remi Rollin

This is a gem of a domaine in the pretty village of Pernand. The fact that they could only append “Vergelesses” to the name of the village helps explain why it remains relatively unknown. In the ripe 2017 vintage the stony soils and slightly higher altitude of Pernand is a positive as it adds structure and freshness. This Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc is a very satisfying wine. Lovely satsuma fruit with a lacing of lime. Well-balanced and similar to 2012s. Good value from Justerini & Brooks at £20 per bottle in bond.
