Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Caillerets" 2017, Paul Pillot

This Domaine owns about 13 hectares across Chassagne, Saint-Aubin and Santenay with 70% of the production accounted for by white wines. "Les Caillerets" is bang in the middle of Chassagne and considered to be the best lieu-dit (especially by those vignerons who own vines there). M. Pillot considers that this wine has long ageing potential. The style points in that direction. The bouquet has a classic Chassagne apricot note. There is good concentration and approaching zingy acidity on the palate. The experience finishes with a tantalising touch of residual sugar. Very interesting. At £65 per bottle in bond from Justerini & Brooks is is consumable.
