Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Petits Clos" 2017, Jean-Noel Gagnard

Tasted at the annual Justerini & Brooks en primeur Burgundy tasting, this Chassagne premier cru blanc is aged in 25% new oak and hails from the southerly Santenay side of the village which has slightly heavier soils. "Les Petits Clos" can also be classified as Morgeots. There is a delicious apricot and orange nose. Lovely, rich, full and ripe on the palate with underlying freshness. Definitely at the plump end of the scale and likely will topple over after more than four years in the bottle. At £66.67 per bottle in bond the price seems a bit toppy.
