Chambolle-Musigny 2012, A-F Gros

Now with approaching seven years since the vendanges and five years in the bottle it seems a good time to crack open some 2012s. Ladies and gentlemen, the time is indeed now. This Chambolle from the wonderful A-F Gros stable in Pommard starts with a nose of ripe cherry and plum. It has evolved to aniseed and vanilla. Morello cherries, red cherries and black cherries - you get the picture. A hint of pomegranate. Perfectly balanced on the palate, medium body, more cherry flavour. An utterly enjoyable wine... no need to exercise the intellectual faculties much, this is all indulgence. Also perfectly mature now. Scores 81/100.
