Auxey-Duresses “La Macabrée” 2017, Olivier Leflaive

The Olivier Leflaive domaine needs little introduction. It now extends to more than 80 different appellations. I miss the old days of the Table d’Olivier Leflaive when Pascal Wagner served a limitless amount of wine à volonté. These days that pretty building with its stone stair case on place du monument in Puligny lies vacant. A limestone memory of lost times. Tasted at the Corney & Barrow annual Burgundy en primeur tasting this Auxey 2017 is round and ripe with a white peach and pear flavour. In one word: gouleyant. At £21.83 pb in bottle it is not cheap nor is it expensive.
