Saint-Véran “Vieilles Vignes” 2016, Domaine Des Deux Roches

This domaine has been one of the most reliable top quality producers of Saint-Véran for three decades. Medium straw yellow. On the nose, unsalted butter, apricot, cucumber, yellow apple, creamy, full, evolves to orange blossom. Very typical for Saint-Véran. Shows the plumpness of 2016. Medium-low acidity. Thick with a dominant orange flavour. Slightly waxy texture. A touch heavy on the front palate, fairly short finish with a dab of orange rind. Enjoyable, thick but not elegant.
