Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2017, Rossignol-Trapet

Tasted at the Corney & Barrow en primeur event, this domaine, which the Imbibers’ Guide team visited in 2017, is bio-dynamic. Red berries on the nose but slightly closed. Crunchy berries, mineral, structured on the palate. Medium-light body. This barrel sample is not particularly compelling now. The wines from Geantet-Pansiot and Drouhin-Laroze stood out more. At £28.33 in bond this is not too expensive but I am left looking for confidence that this will deliver in 2022 and beyond.
