Ribbon Ridge "Beaux Frères Vineyard" Pinot Noir 2016, Beaux Frères

Fourth wine tasted at the winery in mid-June. This is produced from a large 24 acre site which sits on top of the Ribbon Ridge in the Willamette Valley. The vines are farmed organically and the vineyard is not irrigated. Vinification takes place using natural yeast. Muddle of blueberry and strawberry fruit on the nose. Attractive notes of aniseed and oregano. Plenty going on for a young wine. On the palate this offers lovely concentrated blackberry, cherry and blueberry fruit. Classic for high quality Ribbon Ridge. Long and stylish, excellent balance, ripe tannins on the finish. Needs another 3 to 5 years in the bottle to fully express itself. The most impressive of the four Beaux Frères wines tasted. Scores 85-88/100.
