Dundee Hills "Edition Limitée" Pinot Noir 2015, Domaine Drouhin Oregon

This was the first of three wines tasted blind in the Portola Valley with three Imbibers' Guide contributors. Charming nose of soft cherry, blood orange and rhubarb. Additional notes of aniseed and a touch of toffee. A bright and engaging nose. This Oregonian pinot noir from the Dundee Hills AVA is nicely balanced with fine tannins and a cherry flavour. It is smooth with a lovely length. Medium acidity and medium body. An harmonious experience. No sense that this really need much more time in bottle to open up. Across the three wines in the blind-tasting this was the most popular. Scores 81-85/100.
