Puligny-Montrachet 2013, François Carillon

Given that François Carillon produces mineral, focused wines which need time to age I thought I'd leave the 2013s, a fairly fresh vintage, for five years before cracking open a bottle. Initial citrus nose, dominated by lemon with very clean oak aromas. Honeysuckle, white honey, present but subtle, mandarin and cloves. After 30 minutes this Puligny becomes a lot sweeter on the nose. Linear, lemon-dominated, green apple, fresh pineapple. There is a lot to appreciate on the palate. Mineral, long, medium plus acidity, zippy but with a pleasant dose of white flower honey on the finish. A classic Puligny with a tantalizing personality!
