Meursault "Les Clous" 2013, Seguin-Manuel

During the early 1990s I visited this storied domaine, founded in 1824, when it was located in Savigny and they cellared Rhone wines as well as Rioja and port. A fascinating experience conducting a cellar tasting. Domaine Seguin-Manuel is now located outside the old town walls of Beaune, after its acquisition in 2004 by Thibaut Marion. We tasted there in 2016. This Meursault was very Meursault-like. Which makes me happy. A baked lemon, lemon tart, mandarin, vanilla and lemon icing sugar nose gets the bouquet off to an excellent start. Medium minus acidity, citrus, apple, good weight, nutty, toasted pine and hazelnuts, minerality on the finish. This Meursault has really hit its stride. Very enjoyable!
