Vosne-Romanée "Les Champs Perdrix" 2016, Bruno Clair

A fourth wine from Domaine Bruno Clair tasted at the annual Justerini & Brooks en primeur Burgundy tasting. This Vosne produced from the "Partridge Field" lieu dit is not too expressive on the nose, just a hint of red berry fruit. Good cherry and strawberry fruit width on the front palate. Smooth, medium plus acidity, round tannins, minerality tingles the tongue. It's well crafted but not thrilling. Scores 69-75/100 reflecting the potential to improve as there is sufficient fruit depth to sustain it. At £700 for a 12 bottle case in bond (£72.60 per bottle retail) you are probably worth waiting to see if this does evolve and improve!
