Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Referts" 2016, Etienne Sauzet

Tasted at the Justerini & Brooks annual Burgundy tasting, this Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts is very much reflective of the 2016 vintage characteristics. The nose is very centred on citrus with lime dominant. There is a tingling, mineral intensity, very linear structure, lime flavour. Thankfully this is fresh not tart. I worry about the lack of riper citrus fruit flavours. Scores 73-80/100. Les Referts is £810 per case of 12 bottles which is £83.60 per bottle retail.
