Gevrey-Chambertin 2016, Bruno Clair

This Gevrey-Chambertin 2016 from Domaine Bruno Clair has a classic Gevrey village nose of cherry, plum and spice. There is fresh, lovely pinot fruit on the palate. Superb length, some chewiness, good structure and body which generally seems to be lacking in 2016s. One of the few 2016s that seem to have significant potential to fill out and improve over time. Scores 71-75/100. This Gevrey 2016 costs £490 for a case of 12 bottles in bond which is £50.60 in the hand. Proof of excellent wine-making skills and worth having 6 bottles in the cellar.
