Central Otago "River Run" Pinot Noir 2014, Chard Farm Winery

Located just before the entry to the Gibbston Valley, Chard Farm is perched on a ledge above a deep gorge. A more dramatic location would be hard to find. This pinot starts with cherry, stones and slate. Touches of raspberry fruit and leaves. Aged 11 months in French oak of which 20% new. Dried fruits, touch of residual sugar, medium minus acidity and medium to low tannins. Overall fresh style and a genuine pinot. Good wine.
