Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Chenevottes" 2015, Jean-Noël Gagnard

Tasted at the Justerini & Brooks Burgundy tasting. Les Chenevottes is one of the larger Chassagne premier cru vineyards which means it is produced by at least twenty domaines and serves as a great point of comparison. Certainly the offerings from Bernard Moreau and Guy Amiot are beautiful wines although in different styles. One a slinky silver cocktail dress the other a décolleté taffeta ball gown. This Chenevottes has a full lemon flavour and that characteristic satsuma taste specific to Chassagne as opposed to Puligny or Meursault. It's a full style with more backbone than plumper 2015s. Scores 69-73/100.
