Chassagne-Montrachet 2005, Louis Carillon

This Chassagne has aged beautifully. Golden honey colour with no impurities, bright and reflective. First nose of ripe pink grapefruit, cooked orange, honeyed golden syrup. Sweet clove and aniseed notes. Crystallized pineapple. Thick orange and pineapple fruit on front palate and then rapidly tails off to an amontillado finish with touches of almond. Good acidity. Nose finishes on manuka honey and grand marnier. Scores 28/30 for a Chassagne.
