Pommard Vieilles Vignes 2012, Génot-Boulanger

The second red wine tasted at the domaine after I dodged the Mercurey which is off limits due to it not being on the Côte d'Or. This Pommard 2012 has a good cherry/plum aroma with hints of roses. Aged in 75% used barrels and 25% new barrels. On the palate its fresh, berry-dominated, good tannins but possibly not enough fruit. As with other wines from the domaine, the intention is there to make quality wines but there is still work to do. Scores 19/30 for a Pommard.
