Pommard 1er Cru "Petits Noizons" 2012, Seguin-Manuel

Tasted at the domaine's cellars in Beaune this Pommard 1er Cru starts on plums, walnuts (as the name "little nuts" suggests) and oats. Medium++ acidity, medium++tannins, medium+ body. This wine is true to its terroir -- there is a lot of structure. Attack on the palate = grip+. Ripe nevertheless. Needs 5 years to open up and soften. Back of cellar stuff and a challenge for any taster to anticipate how it will evolve. Scores 22/30 for a Pommard 1er Cru.
