Meursault "Clos du Cromin" 2012, Génot-Boulanger

This lieu-dit is near Volnay suggesting a slightly heavier soil and richer wine. It's fresh, linear, citrus dominated, mineral and even has lime edges. Crystalline and fresh on the palate. There are none of the typical Meursault flavours of honey, hazelnuts and marzipan. Seems like a wine which was harvested too early (lack of ripeness) and/or not vinified in a way that brings out the natural sugars in the grapes for instance a lack of bâtonnage which plumps up wines. Scores 16/30 for a Meursault.
