Meursault 2008, Jean-Louis Moissenet-Bonnard
Despite being the president of the Pommard viticultural association, Jean-Louis Moissenet-Bonnard is overlooked by the books on top Burgundy domaines. This is a significant omission, the domaine has a full range of top flight Pommard appellations and the wines mature wonderfully. This Meursault has a very clean, medium yellow colour. The aromas are classic Meursault: almond croissant, apricot, crepe. The aromas stay with the orange-coloured fruit: sweet clementines, apricots. Medium-minus acidity, medium body and good ripeness. A decent longueur with some uplifting mineral textures. It's starting to lose its vim but will be good for another year. Perfect companion for a fish cooked in cream sauce. Scores 22/30 for a Meursault.
