Beaune 1er Cru "Les Boucherottes" 1999, Domaine Parent
Second wine in a blind tasting hosted in the infamous red wine village of Puligny. Thick red, pretty dark. Obviously plenty of maturity. First nose of spice, oak, plum. The secondary aromas are amazing and fasincating: orange peel, plum, spice, l'anus du sanglier. A strong fist of a nose. Very much alive on the palate. Ripe plum/cherry. Round. Drinking very well. Medium+ body. Medium+ tannin. Medium- acidity. Mature and still going strong. Integrated. Really excellent mature Burgundy. I imagine very hard to spot as a Beaune 1999. Seems much younger than that due to the fruit on the palate. Testimony to excellent wine making. Scores 27/30 for a Beaune 1er Cru.
