Meursault "Les Tillets" 2011, Patrick Javillier

A second wine tasted at the domaine in Meursault, this lieu dit sits on the mid to upper slope on the southern side of Meursault towards Puligny. Reflecting the freshness of the 2011 vintage this Meursault "Les Tillets" starts on a ripe green apple note, fresh pear, not showing too much leg yet. Fresh apple flavour, intertwined with lemon and a hint of lime. Linear, a touch of fennel. Elegant. Needs 3 years to open up and disclose its full personality. Scores 23-25/30 for a Meursault. Photo shows "Les Tillets" on the hill in July 2011.
