Meursault 2010, Patrick Javillier

What I appreciate the most about this domaine's wines is the combination of luscious, ripe chardonnay fruit with a beautiful freshness. Incredibly for one of the top Meursault domaines, they only started to produce a straight Meursault village in 2010 -- and this is a wonderful specimen. Exhibiting the 2010 vintage in full sail this Patrick Javillier wine has a ripe lemon nose, it is perfumed, there is a glorious orange blossom aroma. This spectacular wine continues on the palate with cantaloupe melon, red apple and orange in a round structure. Succulent up front it has a mineral finish. Pleasant to drink now and superb quality. Scores 26-27/30 for a Meursault. Photo shows an orange tree in blossom in the courtyard of Château de Sully.
