Bourgogne Blanc "Cuvée Oligocène" 2008, Patrick Javillier

Tasted blind with friends at Bourgoblog HQ in Puligny this Bourgogne blanc does a great job of pretending to be a Meursault. A medium yellow colour seemingly with some green tints still indicating relative youth. But on the nose this Meusault explodes with an open, deep and sexy nose of ripe meyer lemon, white peach and white honey. Aromas continue on lemon and honey. Rounded, full, apricot, pear, fresh on the finish. A touch of minerality. This wine can keep company with a Meursault premier cru. Scores 29/30 for a Bourgogne Blanc.
