Since taking over the
Domaine Perrot-Minot in 1990, Christophe Perrot-Minot has focused on improving the quality and typicity of wines which previously were rather humdrum. The domaine has more than 11 hectares of wines all on the Côte d'Or and this is a superb, opulent Nuits-Saint-Georges premier cru of which the domaine owns 2 hectares. Cherries, plum, serious, weighty, impresssive nose. Compared to other 2011s this has immediate pungency and punch. Lovely blueberry fruit, good ripeness, concentrated, fine and elegant. This is a standout wine from the 2011 vintage. Reflects excellent terroir and brilliant wine-making. Scores 25-27/30 for a Nuits Saint Georges premier cru. Photo shows NSG vineyards in July 2011.
