Domaine Méo-Camuzet is a genuine top flight estate with almost 20 hectares of vines including four grands crus and a breadth of premiers crus. These wines from the domaine should not be confused with the wines sold under the négoçiant label, "
Méo-Camuzet Frère et Soeurs". Happily this Fixin does a great job of flying the flag for the Méo-Camuzet domaine and also proves that 2011 could produce pleasant wines. The nose is initially slightly reductive, there is plum jam (from high phenols), vanilla, it is pretty rich and chewy, there are rustic tannins and a dollop of plum purée. Very well crafted. Scores 22-24/30 for a Fixin premier cru. Photo shows Fixin from a distance.
