Chambolle-Musigny 2002, Domaine Herezstyn

I have been buying from the Domaine Herezstyn for several years, most likely picked up this 2002 in the summer of 2004. What remarkable self-control to cellar a bottle of Chambolle for so long... Starts on a consistent cherry red colour, the first nose is unimpressive, flat, iron. Becomes a linear, strawberry, softer nose. Then cocoa and vanilla. Really delivers on the palate with a smoothness, elegance, raspberry, good depth, it is good, pleasant and true to the terroir. Tasted blind, the team really enthused about this. Scores 25/30 for a Chambolle.
