Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Petits Clos" 2011, Jean-Noel Gagnard

This rarely seen Chassagne premier cru from Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard is made from a parcel of vines usually subsumed into the larger Morgeot lieu-dit. The vines are at the foot of the Chassagne slope with a significant amount of white clay in the soil. Vinified one-third in new oak this highly pleasurable Chassagne 2011 premier cru is reminiscent of baked lemon pie with whippy meringue, touches of peach, its rich, slightly unctuous, sucré and crémeux.
