Chablis 1er Cru "Côte de Léchet" 2011, Vincent Dampt
A second Chablis 1er Cru 2011 tasted from the Vincent Dampt domaine at the annual Corney & Barrow tasting. Produced from a south-westerly facing vineyard on a limestone terroir, tangerine, grapefruit and gooseberry (groseille à maquereau) jelly. Decent fruit but nothing special. Seems a bit short of fruit on the palate. Perhaps Chablis has fallen in the field of battle against the rainy and cloudy 2011 summer. Scores 14-17 / 30 for a Chablis 1er Cru.
