Bourgogne Blanc "Cuvée des Forgets" 2011, Patrick Javillier

As the class of Bourgogne blancs go, this is a splendid example across the vintages, and this 2011 was tasted at the annual Corney & Barrow Burgundy tasting in the town of London. I was very glad to find that Crush in New York stocks this cellar staple. This offered immediate appeal, with apple and pear aromas and a lush palate which captures fresh fruit. The 2010, 2009 and 2008 were more fun for sure. This 2011 is lighter even a tad severe but still enjoyable. Scores 19-22 / 30 for a Bourgone blanc.
