Hautes Côte de Beaune "Vieilles Vignes" 2010, Domaine Parigot

As the Burgundy climate warms slightly every year, the wines of the Hautes Côtes get that extra dose of ripeness which rounds out sharp angles from the higher altitude vineyards. This chardonnay also benefits from the extra depth from vieilles vignes. Floral and fresh citrus nose, good weight, round. Good backbone, acidity, minerality, impressive for a HCdB. There is some cox's apple flavour at the end, its fresh, a real live wire and excellent value. Scores 25/30 for the HCdB blanc appellation.
