Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Folatières" 2006, Domaine Vincent Girardin

This was the first wine of five in a blind tasting held at the Puligny HQ of Burgoblog after an intensely competitive round of pétanque on the place des maronniers. A light yellow colour announces an initial nose of faint lemon. After 10 minutes in the glass this evolves to clementine and apricots. Its fruit and really gorgeous reflecting the sunny 2006 vintage. On the palate rich, fleshy, lemon-driven with appealing acidity. Drinking well now but could be kept for another 2-3 years.
