Meursault-Goutte d'Or 1er Cru 2009, Domaine des Comtes Lafon

The Meursault Goutte d'Or premier cru is relatively small compared to the three major appellations in premier cru. The Comtes Lafon vines were replanted in 1991 and now with 20 years of age are in their element. The clay soil and east-facing vineyard tend to produce a vin de garde. This Goutte d'Or was tasted from the barrel prior to fining and offers aromas of orange blossom and strawberry. Its a rich wine, big, powerful and punchy. Crack open in 2015 with a poulet de bresse in a rich wine or white port sauce.
