Meursault-Genevrières 1er Cru 2006, Moret-Nominé

A fourth wine in the Burgoblog blind tasting held in Puligny. This is a domaine I am not familiar with. A light gold colour with fat legs. Bizarre initial aromas of dandelion and buttercup flowers, apple, very pungent. Becomes more grassy, green apple and cut parsley. Ends on sweeter apricots and peaches. Once imbibed this Meursault 1er Cru is juicy, light bodied, apricoty, simple and fresh. Reminiscent of Condrieu on the nose after 30 minutes in the glass and a New Zealand sauvignon blanc after 30 seconds in the glass. This Moret-Nominé Meursault 2006 certainly had the blind tasters confused and perplexed. Resolved itself after a strange beginning.
