Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 2005, J-M Boillot

The village of Saint-Aubin continues to move out of the shadow of its better known neighbours. This Saint-Aubin from the robust and sunny 2005 vintage is a good example. Initial nose of icing sugar, fragrant white flowers, lemon. This is a nicely balanced wine and elegant for the 2005 vintage. Good length, tension, mineral. Like a coiled spring noted fellow taster Ammar. Tasted blind during a Sunday lunch one taster put this in Puligny and another in Meursault.
