Vosne-Romanée 2003, Jacques Cacheux

For those tasters who like to track the evolution of a wine over time here are my tasting notes for this Vosne 2003 from August 2008 and October 2007. And you can also compare with the Vosne 2001 and Vosne 1999 from Jacques Cacheux. This pinot kicked off with incredible pheasant aromas a real barnyard of a bouquet. Then closed up and fell back onto ripe strawberries. Savoury, fresh, lively, violets, un vin digeste. Structured finish. Tasted blind this was a popular choice. No point in keeping it longer and I was impressed by the ability to harness the super-ripe 2003 fruit.
