Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" 2009, Robert Chevillon

This vineyard sits just up the slope from Les Saint Georges and is therefore close to the Les Cailles. This Nuits 1er Cru announces its intention with a deep plum colour. The glass fires a penetrating grapeshot of aromas which rakes across the nasal taste buds like a man o'war firing pellets across the deck of a pirate ship (eh? - editor). Red and black fruits which are tantalisingly both sweet and fresh. This Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges has power and finesse and I commend it to The House.
