Meursault "Tête de Murger" 2009, Patrick Javillier

This is one of the flagship wines from the domaine priced at the same level as a Meursault 1er cru. True this wine always has something extra: quince, white peach, pear. The 2009 ripeness is written all over this wine which is usually very rich anyway. Soft, fruit-focused and peachy. The style is bigger and riper than usual without necessarily having the savoury richness that can distinguish great Meursault. Impressive. Worth comparing with the 2007 and 2006 vintages. Tasted courtesy of the Corney & Barrow Burgundy 2009 tasting.
