Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru 2009, Louis Remy
The Latricières lieu dit is on the southern edge of Le Chambertin and runs along the side of a combe that travels up to the Hautes Côtes. The soil is stony and the combe brings freshness. The nose on this Latricières 2009 is of fresh red berry fruits, blood orange, but still closed. Hot and racy on the palate. A real hot rod! Big finish with serious fruit depth. Interesting but I'm not sure where it will end up. Likely to be really big. The jury is out on this one until it has been bottled and calmed down. Photo shows the Latricieres vineyard on July 2nd 2010. Tasted courtesy of the Justerini & Brooks Burgundy 2009 tasting.
