Savigny 1er Cru "Clos des Guettes" 2002, Anne Francoise Gros

This is another wine from the Anne Francoise Gros / Domaine Parent stable in Pommard. Recent notes include the Hautes-Cotes de Beaune 2006. This 2002 has a wonderful gamey nose, well-hung pheasant, venison. Reminds me of a casserole in Bouillon in the Ardennes where the second crusade was launched by Godfroi de Bouillon. Rich black cherry, damson, beech bark. Mid-weight, dark berry fruit. A stunning Savigny which oozes quality. Wow!
