Pommard "Les Riottes" 2008, Domaine Parigot

This Pommard from the Domaine Parigot in Meloisey has a good consistent strawberry colour. Nose is a tad closed at this early stage. Shreds of aubergine skin, even a little medicinal. Slightly dark and mysterious. Excellent black fruit flavours, fresh impact and ripe tannins. A broad structure and this Pommard promises to evolve well. I'm not familiar with "Les Riottes" as a lieu-dit but I did discover a tight little passage near Aluze called "Riotte de la Fanny" which seemed a peculiar name.
