Tasted at the
Château de la Velle, owned by the Darviot family in Meursault, in the shadow of an 18th century wine press this Beaune chardonnay starts with a warm nose of nectarines, hints of oak and undertones of orange. More complete on the palate offering a spicy finish of nutmeg and white pepper, good minerality, the impressively chalky terroir comes through due to the use of 400 litre oak barrels of which only 10% are new oak. Friendly prices too if bought from the domaine.
