Chambolle-Musigny 2002, Domaine Hereszytn

Chambolle is a small appellation, producing about 4,500 hectolitres in the village appellation. Domaine Heresztyn owns 0.39 hectares and produces just 1,200 bottles. Back in December 2008 I predicted this Chambolle 2002 would spark into life in 2010. And? Profound rich cherry colour. Glorious black cherry, baked Victoria plum nose, gentle. Fantastic thick strawberry, plum and cherry fruits. Impressively big and beefy for a Chambolles. Definitely fruit-driven, super mature tannins, finesse. Ideal with a haunch of muntjac deer. Is this a Gevrey-style Chambolle?
