Macon-Milly-Lamartine "Clos du Four" 2007, Les Heritiers du Comte Lafon

This Macon is offered in an over-weight and over-sized bottle which is mighty impressive. Oh yes. Weighing in at 1.9kg and 13% alcohol, in the Burgundy corner, this welter weight would knock down Ricky Hatton harder than 8 pints of Boddingtons. Despite the big build up on the outside, on the inside this is a fine, well-balanced rather suave little number. Gentle lemon, almond and orange blossom aromas flow consistently into a citrus-driven gob-shot of chunky-chewy-freshy-tangy pineapple and peach fruits with a dash of jazz apple. I think this chardonnay should be dressed in a ballerina's tutu not a boxer's muscles. I am concerned about the dressage.
